• - भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन (इसरो) ने श्रीहरिकोटा से भारत के एस्ट्रोसैट सहित सात उपग्रहों को ले जाने वाले रॉकेट का सफल प्रक्षेपण कर दिया है.
• - इस एस्ट्रोसैट की मदद से ब्रह्मांड को समझने में मदद मिलेगी. भारत के स्वदेशी टर्बो-चार्ज ‘मिनी हबल टेलीस्कोप’ का आंध्रप्रदेश के श्रीहरिकोटा स्थित अंतरिक्ष केंद्र से प्रेक्षपण किया गया. 
• - इसके सफल होने पर अंतरिक्ष में अपनी दूरबीन लगानेवाला भारत पहला विकासशील राष्ट्र बन जायेगा. साथ ही अमेरिका, यूरोपीय संघ और जापान जैसे देशों के विशिष्ट क्लब में शामिल हो जायेगा. वेधशाला का उपयोग ब्लैक होल के अध्ययन के लिए किया जायेगा.
• - यह रॉकेट अपने साथ 1,513 किलोग्राम वजनी 180 करोड़ रुपए की लागत वाले भारतीय एस्ट्रोसैट उपग्रह के अलावा अमेरिका के चार और इंडोनेशिया तथा कनाडा के एक-एक उपग्रहों को ले गया.
• - एस्ट्रोसैट को पृथ्वी से 650 किलोमीटर की ऊंचाई पर कक्षा में स्थापित किया जाएगा.देश का पहला बहु-तरंगदैर्ध्य वाला अंतरिक्ष निगरानी उपग्रह 'एस्ट्रोसैट' भी शामिल है,

Varanasi Chosen as ‘City of Music’ by UNESCO
Indian Town Varanasi was chosen as the global bandwagon of UNESCO “Cities of Music” under the Creative Cities Network by UNESCO. It was chosen in the music category under UNESCO’s “field of excellence” plan. The fields of excellence are classified into categories of literature, film, music, craft and folk art, design, media arts and gastronomy. Nine cities – Glasgow in the UK, Hanover and Mannheim in Germany, Ghent in Belgium, Hamamatsu in Japan, Brazzaville in the Republic of Congo, Bogota in Columbia, Seville in Spain and Bologna in Italy – are already part of UNESCO “Cities of Music”.

• The Reserve Bank of India on 17 July 2015 signed a Special Currency Swap Agreement with the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

Hello readers, IBPS calender 2015 is out. As a big surprise, IBPS has decided to hold two-tier examinations for recruitment of PO/MTs and Clerks from CWE-V 2015 onwards.

As per the notification on IBPS website, it has been decided by the competent authority to hold two-tier examinations for recruitment of PO/MT and Clerks from CWE-V onwards. All the candidates who successfully register themselves under CWE PO/MT-V and CWE CLERK-V will be called for Preliminary Examinations. Based on the performance in the preliminary examination, certain number of candidates will be shortlisted for each of these examinations. The short listed candidates will then be called for Main Examinations.

There will be fewer number of questions in the Preliminary Examination with shorter duration. The details with regard to both the Preliminary and Main examinations will be made available on IBPS website through the detailed notifications in due course.

The marks obtained in the Preliminary examination will not be considered for preparing the final merit list and the marks obtained in the Main Examination will only be considered for short listing for
interview.

The tentative dates for CWE PO/MT-V are as follows -

Preliminary Examination 03.10.2015, 04.10.2015, 10.10.2015 &11.10.2015

Also, IBPS RRB exam will be held in September 2015 and IBPS Clerk V will be held in December 2015.
